County Hall, Room 181
This comprehensive refurbishment at County Hall not only focused on electrical systems but also covered a wide range of services to make the office space highly functional and technologically advanced.
The transformation began with the removal of existing services and redundant containment/cables, creating a clean slate for our team to work on.
Our low-voltage distribution system was a crucial part of the project. We installed kWh energy meters to each distribution board, connecting them to the existing Building Management System (BMS). This integration allows the client to monitor and manage energy consumption effectively, promoting sustainability and cost-efficiency.
Cable tray and basket systems played a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of the space. These were strategically installed above the ceiling grid and below the suspended flooring. Our meticulous approach maintained the segregation of LV cables, ELV cables, and Fire Alarm wiring, guaranteeing that each system operated optimally and safely meet all necessary compliance standards.
To ensure that every workstation was equipped with essential power and data connections, we integrated a desk electrics system. This innovation streamlined the distribution of power and data throughout the office, eliminating the need for cumbersome and unsightly cables, contributing to a clean and organised workspace.
Lighting was a key component of the refurbishment. We installed a comprehensive lighting control system, offering precise control of illumination, enhancing energy efficiency, and creating a comfortable working environment. Additionally, an emergency lighting system was put in place, ensuring safety during unexpected events.
To safeguard the office space and its occupants, we installed cutting-edge security measures. A state-of-the-art Fire Alarm system was installed to promptly detect and respond to fire hazards. Additionally, we implemented a Door Access system, regulating entry and exit, and an Intruder Alarm system to deter and alert against unauthorised access. Security measures were further fortified with a comprehensive CCTV system, offering extensive coverage across the facility. This system not only enhances security but also allows for real-time monitoring and documentation of activities, contributing to a secure and well-protected workspace for everyone.
Data communication played a vital role in the modern workplace. Our team ensured that the office space was equipped with reliable and high-speed data connectivity, meeting the demands of today's digital work environment.
Sustainability was a key focus of this project. The Solar photovoltaic panels were commissioned once the inverter was moved into a more suitable position. This green energy solution not only reduces the environmental footprint but also contributes to cost savings in the long run.
In the upper floor plant room, we completed a full fit-out, demonstrating our expertise in galvanised conduit installation. This system efficiently contains cables, providing a robust and organised infrastructure that supports the building's electrical requirements. This room serves as a central hub for the building's Mechanical & Electrical operations, showcasing the efficiency and attention to detail that our team brings to every project.
In conclusion, the County Hall office space refurbishment project has successfully revitalised the workspace, making it safer, more efficient, and technologically advanced. From the innovative cable systems to advanced lighting, security, and data communication solutions, our team has delivered a state-of-the-art office environment that meets the evolving needs of the modern workplace. We are proud to have been a part of this project, and we look forward to the continued success and satisfaction of our valued client in their upgraded workspace.
